Trade association bds demands further relaxations

"We expressly buried the announced easing of restrictions for our local economy and our inner cities – they are urgently needed", says gabriele sehorz, president of the bund der selbststandigen bavaria (BDS) on the state government’s mabnahmen in the corona crisis.

"With the gradual opening we get again a first cautious perspective and a more concrete schedule. The economic situation for many small businesses is not only serious, it is catastrophic", sehorz continues in the BDS press release. In the BDS forchheim network, which currently has 67 member companies, the new announcements are also causing some optimism, as melanie ebert (hallerndorf), chairwoman of the forchheim region, adds.

Worries about gastronomy

The BDS is also concerned about restaurateurs, hotel operators and exhibitors in the region of forchheim, as there are still no possibilities for relaxation for this industry. There the federation – with clear hygiene concepts – had urgently hoped for a relaxation.

"We must not make openings or relaxations purely and exclusively dependent on the industry. If a restaurant or a fitness studio can present a conclusive hygiene concept, then this must be respected and taken into account and lead to a relaxation of the inspections", says BDS president gabriele sehorz. The association very much regrets that it has to close the "BDS-azubi-akademie" currently also unable to implement. According to melanie ebert, there is an exchange with the participating operators and support is offered on a voluntary basis.

The local chairwoman made a social appeal to the citizens of the forchheim region: "please continue to support your local businesses. We as BDS appeal: let us keep sales in the region!"

The BDS bavaria comprises around 15,000 companies and elbstandige with around 350,000 employees. More than 90 percent of companies in all sectors of the SME sector are family-owned.
