The fair, which is also hosted in rotation by the two kulmbach high schools, is a model for success. The organizers are proud of this – the school/economy working group, the district of kulmbach and the participating schools. Through the fair, which reaches several hundred schoolchildren and their parents every year, they succeed in raising awareness of the fact that there are also numerous efficient, modern and globally networked companies in the region where it is worthwhile starting an apprenticeship. In addition, there are a number of universities that make it possible to study close to home.
Between 60 and 80 companies participate each year. And district administrator klaus peter sollner therefore also notes that it enjoys unbroken popularity. Such an event, at which schools can obtain information in a very short time, is only possible because the cooperation between schools, business and politics is unique.
Clemens dereschkewitz, chairman of the school/economics working group, and his deputy michael pfitzner are convinced that future high school graduates can also make contact with companies again and again – via a P-seminar or a vacation job. Knowing what is on offer and being able to choose is therefore more than helpful.
But not only large companies will be there on saturday, but also small ones. Craft enterprises and guilds are also among the exhibitors, as the deputy chairman of the AK schule/economy, hans-peter brendel, emphasizes. Networking is also important for them.
According to alexander battistella, director of this year’s host vocational school center, where the training fair will also be held in the fall, these two events complement each other ideally. He also hopes to be able to keep as many students as possible in the region later on.
The abitura takes place on saturday from 10 to 13 a.M.30 o’clock at the vocational school center. Numerous exhibitors are on site – and many expert lectures on various topics are offered.
